Hey guys,

it's been a while as we last read us. Anyway I've some informations for the group. And I really hope, to get some feedback from you. :)

As you noticed I changed the welcome text on dAemoticons I really wanted to keep this group simple. That everyone of us understand what the group is for.

dAemoticons should easily bring all emoticon related news together. Everyone of us follow some deviants on deviantART, and sometimes they come up with some great news. The problem only the deviants who followed this deviant noticed about this news. And all the other who did not followed this special deviant did not recognize these fantastic news. :(

So here come dAemoticons submit the news to the group and so a lot of deviants will recognize, these fantastic news.

Everyone of us could be the one, which helped the emoticon community to see the full power of our community. :aww:

Feel free to tell me your thoughts.

Best wishes to you Erni aka Gomotes

Emoticon Articles

You can always count on EmoteADay for some fabulous features! Here are the most recent:

April 26, 2013The featured emote for today is:

The "great" magician by H34, submitted on August 1, 2010.
The animation in this emote, or rather the lack thereof, can be what makes this idea great. The animation does a good job of making it seem like the magician is trying to be amazing, and the expression of the blue emote does justice to how poorly he's doing.
:bulletblack: April 27, 2013The featured emote for today is:

sandwich by Sand-wich, submitted on September 29, 2009.
You know what'd be cool? Being able to make sandwiches out of thin air and have them put themselves in your plate. That'd be cool.
:bulletblack: April 28, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Game Evolution by Banjelerp, submitted on November 24, 2012.
This emote does a very nice homage to the past, present and possible future of gaming. I personally like how smooth the transition is between each console and how enthused the emote is with playing the various consoles.

And being his wonderful self, IceXDragon has rounded up his recent Emoticons of the Week and has also listed some helpful inspirations (many of them emoticon-related)!

April 19, 2013The featured emote for today is:

:FailThief: by JoyJoyfulTheRabbit, submitted on August 21, 2011.
This idea is unique, to say the least, as it turns an uncommon situation into the implausible. The animation is smooth and overall excellent, I personally like how the text gets bigger with the boat.
:bulletblack: April 20, 2013The featured emote for today is:

:bulletblack: April 21, 2013The featured emote for today is:

:takenotes: by duhcoolies, submitted on November 28, 2008.
With a realistic animation for the movement of the writing hand and the eyes as it follows the pencil, the facial expression, the little details like the flipping of the pages of the notebook, and how smooth all of this is animated, this emote has all the elements of a good animated piece.

And IceXDragon was interviewed over at the group too!

WeEmote hosted another fabulous chat event! Here’s a general round-up of the night’s festivities!
April Emote Chat Event RoundupChat Event
April saw another in the line of emote themed chat events hosted in our emoticon chatroom WeEmote. It was held on Saturday 6th April, 9PM BST.
The event had 3 different games covering a wide range of emoticon related topics from a pixel challenge, to an emote treasure hunt. Below you will find a round up of the event.
Emote Treasure Hunt
In the emote treasure hunt we provided an artist's username and a clue to find a specific animal-themed deviation in their gallery. Once deviants found the designated deviation, they had to post the thumb into the chat. The first person who gets it right will won the prize. However, instead of winning a standard amount of points, in the spirit of April fools which was earlier this week we had 10 different prizes, one randomly assigned to each question. These ranged from 1-100 points and a variety of art prizes. So what each person won was a bit of a mystery.

And EmoteADay have kept on going with the incredible emote features!

April 4, 2013The featured emotes for today:

Love by SweetPancake1254, submitted on March 23, 2010.
A good emote doesn't need to be complicated in any sort, sometimes the best emotes are remarkably simple, such is the case here. This emote does what any good static / near-static chat friendly emote should do, describe in an emotion, which it does in a remarkably cute way.
:bulletblack: April 5, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Mario Kart Bananas by ConnieCookiee, submitted on March 10, 2012.
This is an awesome tribute to the Mario Kart series, and those very helpful / very dreadful bananas that are oh so common in it. The bouncing emote and the way the bananas neatly follow in line with it is animated very smoothly.
:bulletblack: April 6, 2013The featured emote for today is:

disappear by zealivityfive, submitted on March 13, 2004.
The visual effects on this emote are outstanding, the glowing effect and the transparent frame where the outline of the emote flash before disappearing completely makes this piece astounding.
:bulletblack: April 7, 2013The featured emote for today is:

:dontcopyart: by RanzyTm, submitted on February 9th, 2007.
With art theft being a big issue, not just in emoticon art, but everywhere in the world, this emote displays it's message with nice animation and an overall great idea.

Interview with emoticonist :devSynfull:!:iconArtHistoryProject:

Today, we will be interviewing Synfull, a well known artist! (This was supposed to be posted on Saturday, but I had connection problems, sorry for the incovenience. Also, I am sorry but my Membership ended and I can't use the group's skin).
Hello and welcome to this interview `Synfull! Introduce us yourself.
Hey everyone. My name is Karen though I'm also known as 'Syn' around the community. I've been a member of deviantART for 7 years now and have been an emoticonist for around 4-5 years. In the offline world I'm currently taking a gap year out before starting work and in my free time love watching films, helping at Scouts and solving Rubik's cubes.

Hello there, =Kath602! Tell us one or two words about yourself!

Customization is a diverse category, that because of its diversity shares many rumors, myths and general questions about parts of the gallery and their uses.  I do not claim to be knowledgeable of this gallery, in fact, when writing this article, I decided to approach this through my own perspective as someone who has no experience with the gallery and has never submitted to it before.  I set out to answer my own questions that I've wondered about and was greeted with a tremendous amount of help from the community as well as a variety of answers for me to chew on.
This Wednesday, I will present to you three of the amazing people who answered my questions about Emoticons and their responses. For those who are seasoned emoticonists, feel free to answer the questions in greater detail in the comments. Here are some questions for everybody to participate
